NOx3 – RESOLVED

CONDEMNING THE THREE PROPOSED VIRGINIA CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS ON THE NOVEMBER 2026 BALLOT

WHEREAS, on November 3, 2026, Virginia voters will decide on three proposed constitutional amendments regarding reproductive rights, marriage definitions, and the automatic restoration of felon voting rights; and

WHEREAS, these amendments use misleading ballot language to advance radical policies that bypass genuine consensus and undermine the stability of the Virginia Constitution; and

WHEREAS, the proposed “Right to Reproductive Freedom” amendment threatens parental rights by limiting parental involvement in healthcare decisions for their children, nullifies longstanding safety standards and medical regulations, and compromises legal protections for preborn human life; and

WHEREAS, the marriage amendment fundamentally rewrites constitutional language to remove the constitutional definition of marriage as a union of one man and one woman, broadly encompass sex and gender identity, and directly threatens the religious liberty, free exercise, and conscience rights of churches, ministers, and people of faith; and

WHEREAS, the felon voting rights amendment automatically restores voting rights upon release without requiring post-sentence probation, parole, or victim restitution, regardless of crime severity; and

WHEREAS, these amendments collectively threaten core constitutional principles: right to life, parental rights, religious liberty, judicial accountability, and the integrity of our foundational charter; and

WHEREAS, the Goochland County Republican Committee joins Republicans statewide in rejecting these radical constitutional revisions; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Goochland County Republican Committee:

1. Condemns all three proposed constitutional amendments on the November 3, 2026 ballot as harmful to life, religious freedom, parental rights, and public safety.
2. Urges all Virginia voters to vote NO on all three constitutional amendments on November 3, 2026, rejecting deceptive ballot language to protect innocent life, religious freedom, parental rights, and public safety.
3. Calls on citizens to educate others in their circles of influence on the true impact of these measures using voter education resources, such as https://voteno4x.com/\
4. Directs that this Resolution be recorded in the Goochland County Republican Committee’s permanent records and distributed to members, precinct leaders, the Republican Party of Virginia, and allied organizations, such as the Virginia Tea Party, for grassroots mobilization.
