Here’s all the info on the Special Election:
Early Voting for the 2025 January Special Election Begins on Friday, December 27th
Beginning Friday, December 27, 2024, you can cast your ballot for the January 2025 Special Election by visiting Goochland County’s Office of the General Registrar located at 1876 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063.
Office of the General Registrar will be open for early voting during normal office hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. continuing until Friday, January 3. There will also be special hours on Saturday, December 28 and Saturday, January 4 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday, December 29 from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Early voting will not be available on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as the Registrar’s office and all County offices will be closed in observance of New Year’s Day.
Dedicated parking for voters 65 or older and voters with disabilities is in front of the Office of the General Registrar’s building. The dedicated parking is accessible from the Sandy Hook Road (Route 522) entrance behind the County Administration Building.
Important Reminders
To request an Absentee Ballot, please visit www.goochlandva.us/vote or https://vote.elections.virginia.gov/VoterInformation. The last day to request an Absentee Ballot to be sent to you is December 27. Applications to request an Absentee Ballot can be returned in person at the Office of the General Registrar located at 1876 Sandy Hook Rd, Goochland, VA 23063, by mail to the General Registrar at PO Box 1013, Goochland, VA 23063, by fax to 804-556-6323, or by email to vote@goochlandva.us.
Your completed ballot can be returned by mail to PO Box 1013, Goochland, VA, 23063. Ballots can be returned during normal business hours to designated drop off locations at the office of the General Registrar.
Drop off locations will also be available at polling places on Election Day. Please visit the District Information page at www.goochlandva.us/vote for a list of those addresses.
The deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration for the January 2025 Special Election is December 31. The 2025 January Special Election will occur on January 7, 2025, with all precincts open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
