2022 Goochland County Republican Mass Meeting News

The registration deadline specified in the “Call” ended March 7th at 7:00 PM. The call was published on this website, the The RPV website, and the 5th Congressional District website.
Information about this event was also on the front page of the February 24th 2022 edition of the Goochland Gazette.

The Mass meeting happens every two years and in this process the Goochland County Republican Committee is reconstituted.
It’s called a “Mass Meeting” because it’s open and designed for all Republicans who are registered to vote and who live within the county.
127 Goochland Republicans answered the call to the mass meeting.

The Mass Meeting will be held at the American Legion Post 215 on March 16 at 7:00 PM, with check-in beginning at 6:00 PM.

Two officer positions are in contest:

  • For 1st Vice Chair – Jim Herring, and Delbert Horn
  • For 2nd Vice Chair – Chuck Henley, and Mike Sheliga

The remaining officer positions were not in contest at the time of this post.

  • Former 1st Vice Chair Buddy Bishop will assume the role of Chairman.
  • Susan Lascolette (Supervisor D1) will continue as Secretary.
  • Pam Duncan (Goochland Treasurer) will continue as GCRC treasurer.

In addition to electing Officers, the work to be done at the Mass Meeting will include the election of general committee members, and delegates to the 5th Congressional District Convention. These delegates will participate in the nomination of a representative for the 5th district to run for Congress in November.

The 5th Congressional District Convention will be held May 21st, 2022 at Kirby Field House/Hampden-Sydney College, 198 Athletic Center Drive, Farmville, VA 23901.
