For Goochland precincts 402, 501 and 502, the election for who will be the nominees has been settled as a Primary for the 57th House District.
For the rest of Goochland County, the official Calls for the 10th Senate District Convention and the 56th House District have been issued. If an eligible Goochland Republican wants to be a delegate to either convention, they need to have filed before 7:00 PM, March 15th was prescribed in the Call.
The sole purpose of the March 25th Mass Meeting was to elect delegates to the two nominating conventions. Since not more than 390 delegates to the Virginia Senate 10th District Convention and no more than 245 delegates to the Virginia House of Delegates District 56th District Convention, this Mass Meeting is summarily cancelled, and all properly credentialed and qualified delegates will be deemed to be elected as delegates to the convention(s) they filed for.
There was a lot of momentum. But despite being close, less than 390 Goochland Republicans signed up to be delegates to the 10th SD and less than 245 signed up to be delegates for the 56th HD.
Therefore, the March 25th Mass Meeting has been cancelled.
Goochland Mass Meeting May 12th, 2012
This Mass Meeting to decide which local candidates who have filed to be nominated or endorsed by the Republican Party of Goochland County has been set for May 12th, 2023 at Central High School Gymnasium.
The purpose is to nominate and endorse local candidates. Our committee approved the call for this Mass Meeting at our March 15th business meeting.
